Eiffel 65 is an Italian eurodance group formed in 1998 at the studios of the Turin-based record label Bliss Corporation.

The original lineup of the band included musician Maury, frontman and singer Jeffrey Jey, and disc jockey Gabry Ponte.

Due to the tremendous success of their hits, most notably “Blue (Da Ba Dee),” Eiffel 65 is an iconic group in the history of Italian and international dance music, selling over 15 million copies worldwide with just 3 albums in their first five years.

Throughout their career, they have achieved significant international recognition, including the World Music Award received in Monte Carlo in 2000 as the top-selling Italian artists worldwide and a nomination at the Grammy Awards in the “Best Dance Artist” category. They are the Italian band that has sold the most copies in the United States, earning triple platinum and numerous other certifications throughout Europe.

The group’s name came about randomly when a computer selected the word “Eiffel” from a list of possible names, to which the number 65 was mistakenly added from digits found on a telephone number written on a demo tape. After Gabry Ponte’s departure and a period with Bloom 06, which led to the group’s dissolution in 2006, Maury and Jeffrey reunited the band in August 2010, initially with Gabry Ponte and since 2014 as a duo.
