A month with the volley-superstars

The National women’s volleyball team in Caorle before the Olympic Games.

At the beginning of this summer 2021, the Italian women’s volleyball national team is preparing for the Olympic Games in Tokyo

Expectations are high, according to the last game results and the capacities of the players that coach Davide Mazzanti has at his disposal.

After three weeks of training in the mountains of Cavalese-Trento, breathing pure oxygen, which only the heights of the Dolomites can guarantee, healthy iodine and other minerals can now be refueled by the sea. Indeed, Caorle is the perfect place for 5 weeks of training: sun, sea, vitamin-D and sports structures that have been improved over the years and can now accommodate athletes of all sports and levels. Not to mention the hospitality that Caorle is known for.

From June 1st, the players have been in Caorle for the whole month and have completed three training periods. The team has trained in the sport centre “Walter Vicentini”, which has also impressed the junior national team (among them the famous coach Julio Velasco) and the coach Mazzanti: “Caorle and Cavalese are two perfect locations for us, in the period before the Olympics,” confirmed the Coach, “and to retreat to places as beautiful as these is a privilege and an advantage after a difficult and stressful year, mainly under psychological point of view that the girls have behind them.”

The national team was welcomed by the supporters on Saturday, June 19th in Piazza Matteotti.

The Olympic adventure begins on Friday July 16th, with the departure from Rome to Tokyo.
